1880s to 1890s Nonsport "Civil War" SGC-Graded Collection (7)

Collection of seven cards from four different nineteenth-century nonsport sets, each relating to the Civil War. American history provided many popular subjects for nineteenth-century card manufacturers, with numerous sets devoted to Presidents, historic events, inventors and inventions, and famous figures. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). This collection consists of the following: 1-2) 1887 N99 Duke "Battle Scenes" Battle of Fredericksburgh (POOR 10) and Sheridan's Ride (GOOD+ 35). 3-4) 1888 N114 Duke "Histories of Generals" Logan (GOOD+ 35) and Longstreet (VG/EX+ 55). 5-6) 1889 N78 Duke "History of Generals" Grant (VG/EX+ 55) and Lee (VG/EX+ 55). 7) 1890s N377 H. Ellis & Co. "Generals of the Civil War" Lee (EX 60). This is a very attractive collection of cards from these popular nonsport sets devoted to this important chapter of American history.
