1826 John Quincy Adams Signed Land Grant

Land grant, dated October 5, 1826, signed by John Quincy Adams (1767-1848), sixth President of the United States. The document, both printed and handwritten, grants John Johnston of Putnam County, Indiana, eighty acres of land located in Crawfordsville, Indiana. It has been signed in black ink (grading "9") by "J. Q. Adams," as President, and by the commissioner of the land office. The original paper seal is no longer present. The document displays heavy folds (as issued) and is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $948.00
