1957 to 1962 Topps Football Original Card Artwork Collection from the 1989 Topps/Guernsey's Auction (8)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,185.00

Collection of eight original Topps football-card artworks, representing four different sets spanning the years 1957 to 1962. These are the actual original flexichrome artworks used to produce these eight Topps football cards. These artworks were purchased at the famous 1989 Topps/Guernsey's auction. They have not seen the light of day since 1989 and have been consigned to this auction directly from the original purchaser! These original card artworks are very substantial and fascinating and, of course, are ideal for display with their respective issued cards. The original artworks in the collection are as follows: 1) 1957 Topps Football #149 Ronnie Knox of the Chicago Bears (4-3/4 x 3-1/2 inches). 2) 1958 Topps Football #23 Zeke Bratkowski of the Chicago Bears (3-1/4 x 4-1/2 inches). 3-7) 1959 Topps Football (5 artworks): #95 Lew Carpenter of the Green Bay Packers (4-1/4 x 6 inches), 105 Johnny Crow of the Chicago Cardinals (4-1/4 x 5 inches), 116 Jerry Kramer of the Green Bay Packers (4-1/4 x 4-3/4 inches), 117 King Hill of the Chicago Cardinals (4-1/4 x 5 inches), and 162 Dan Currie of the Green Bay Packers (4 x 4-3/4 inches). 8) 1962 Topps Football #24 Ron Bull of the Chicago Bears (3-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches). All eight flexichrome artworks are bright, crisp, and include additional image area which was cropped out by Topps on the issued cards. This is an outstanding selection of original artworks from these popular Topps sets. All are in Excellent condition with normal production-related remnants on their blank reverses. Total: 8 artworks. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
