1922 PB5 Mrs. Sherlock's Bread Complete Set (21)

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $829.50

Complete set of 1922 PB5 Mrs. Sherlock's Bread pins. Twenty-one numbered pins (each .625 inches in diameter) make up the complete set, all of which feature portrait images of individual members of the Toledo Mud Hens of the American Association. The pins encourage kids to "Eat Mrs. Sherlock's Bread" and identify each player (last name only) below his respective image. Manager Roger Bresnahan (#1) is the only Hall of Fame player in the set. Five of the pins (#1, 6, 7, 16, and 18) have an original paper backing on the reverse identifying the manufacturer of the set as the Bastian Bros. Co., of Rochester, N.Y. This is a fascinating set of high-quality pins that have a particularly interesting look due to their small size. All 21 pins (with the exception of one with foxing) are in Ex to Nr/Mt condition. Total: 21 pins. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $829.50
