Hank Greenberg Single-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $2,133

Wilson "Official League" ball signed by Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg. The signature, situated on the sweet spot, has been flawlessly signed in black felt-tip pen and grades "10." Hank Greenberg single-signed ball have always been particularly scarce and very high on collectors' want lists. Today, the demand outweighs the supply by a considerable margin. The reason for that, in part, is because Greenberg passed away in 1986, just before single-signed baseballs became universally recognized as the ideal and values began to skyrocket in response to collector demand. The ball displays a hint of light age toning and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $2,133
