1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $8,295

Graded VG+ 3.5 by PSA. Extremely attractive mid-grade example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This striking example has even wear on the corners, a light stain on the right border, a corner crease in the lower right, and 65/35 centering left to right with a very slight diamond cut. Crisp and bright colors. Clean front and back. The deep blue background is bold and solid, with no white "snow" from wear whatsoever. The back is crisp, clean, and well centered. This is a very appealing mid-grade example with an outstanding overall appearance stronger than its technically accurate grade. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $3,000++. SOLD FOR $8,295
