1933 R319 Goudey #181 Babe Ruth - PSA EX 5

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,259

Graded EX 5 by PSA. Beautiful example of one of Babe Ruth’s most classic cards, #181 Ruth with green background from the 1933 Goudey series. This is a very attractive example, bright and clean, with perfect registration, four square corners, and centered a hint towards the top left with a very slight diamond cut across the top (more visible from the reverse). The reverse is also bright and clean, and is perfectly centered, with bold green text. This is a beautiful card in an extremely desirable condition (at first glance this card appears stronger than Ex), and shares almost all important elements in common with examples of a much higher technical grade. Excellent condition Goudeys rarely look this nice, especially Ruths. This is a quality card representing a rare and outstanding value that is ideal for the collector who wants a beautiful 1933 Goudey #181 Ruth card, but is not interested in spending the many additional thousands (or even tens of thousands) of dollars a significantly higher-graded example would require. SMR value for the assigned grade is $3,650. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+. SOLD FOR $3,259
