1915 E145 Cracker Jack #68 Honus Wagner - PSA NM-MT 8
Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $10,665
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the eighty-four examples graded to date by PSA, only four examples of this card have ever been graded higher! The 1915 Cracker Jack is understandably one of Honus Wagner's most striking and popular cards. This is a spectacular example, extremely attractive, high-grade, and virtually untouched by human hands. This card obviously originates direct from an original "factory set," available direct from Cracker Jack by mail in 1915. Individual Cracker Jack cards were packaged with each box, but cards issued in boxes tend to have various condition problems, including caramel staining. The "Flying Dutchman" is one of the big three key cards in the set, along with Cobb and Jackson. This card displays outstanding color, perfect registration, an extremely bold red background, and virtually flawless square corners (showing just the slightest hint of wear under extremely powerful magnification). If not for the centering (approximately 30/70 L/R), we believe this card would grade even higher. It is a gem! The card would be a welcome addition to any world-class collection of Cracker Jack, Honus Wagner, or Hall of Fame cards. This is an exceptionally strong, magnificent-in-all-respects ultra high-grade example of one of prewar-card collecting's most popular and classic cards. SMR value for the assigned grade is $14,500. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. SOLD FOR $10,665
