1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Ty Cobb

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,541

Graded VG 3 by PSA. Very attractive example of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the E95 Philadelphia Caramel series, one of Cobb's most beautifully designed cards and the key card from this rare and classic 1910-era candy set. The image on this card is unique to the set. This E95 Philadelphia Caramel Ty Cobb is an exceptionally strong mid-grade example with extraordinary eye-appeal. Cobb’s image contrasts sharply against the bold red background. The card is very well centered, just a hint towards the bottom left, with a touch of wear to the square corners. No creases. A few tiny surface abrasions on the front and a couple of small spots on the back are very minor, and have little or no impact on the overall eye-appeal; otherwise this strong card would grade much higher. This is a beautiful and very striking mid-grade example of one of Cobb's most desirable and classic cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $1,541
