1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA EX 5 Collection (98)

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $10,073

Collection of ninety-eight different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated EX 5 (except thirteen EX+ 5.5) by PSA (all have been personally submitted to PSA over the past couple years by our consignor, now 87 years old, who collected back in the 1970s). Mostly commons but including Hal Chase (white cap) and Dahlen Brooklyn team variation. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs unless otherwise noted. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. The collection consists of the following: Abbaticchio (brown sleeves), Abbott, Ames (hands over head), Arellanes, Atz, Barger, Beck, Bell (follow thru), Bescher (hands in air), Bliss (EX+ 5.5), Bradley (port.), Bradley (bat), Brashear, Burch (fielding), Burke, Burns, Bush, Byrne, Camnitz (arm at side), Charles (MK), Chase (white cap, Sovereign 150 back), Clancey, Clymer, Covaleski, Crandall (cap), Cravath (EX+ 5.5), Cree, Dahlen (Brooklyn), Davis (Davis front), Davis (H. Davis front), Delahanty (Louisville), Dessau (MK), Devore, Dooin, Dorner, Downey (fielding, MK), Downs, Dunn (Baltimore, EX+ 5.5), Easterley (Sovereign back), Flanagan, Ford, Freeman (EX+ 5.5), Gilbert, Gray, Grimshaw, Groom, Hall, Hallman, Hannifan, Hartsel, Hinchman (Clev.), Hinchman (Toledo), Hoblitzell, Hoffman (Providence), Hulswitt, Jackson, Jones (Detroit, EX+ 5.5), Krause (pitching, Sovereign 350 back), LaPorte, Lattimore, Lavender, Livingstone, Lord, Maloney, Mattern (EX+ 5.5), McCormick, McElveen, McGlynn (EX+ 5.5), McIntyre (Detroit, MK), Mitchell (Toronto, EX+ 5.5), Moran (Providence), Moran (Chicago), Murphy (batting, EX+ 5.5), Murphy (throwing), Myers (batting), O'Brien, O'Leary (hands on kees), O'Leary (portrait), Pelty (vertical, EX+ 5.5), Perring, Purtell, Rhoades (arm extend), Rossman, Schirm, Schlafly, Scott, Sharpe, Spencer, Snodgrass (batting), Snodgrass (catching), Steinfeldt (bat), Stephens (EX+ 5.5), Stovall (batting, EX+ 5.5), Summers (EX+ 5.5), Tannehill (Tannehill front), Taylor, Thielman, and Wiltse (cap). This is a very impressive group that could serve as a substantial foundation for a high-quality T206 collection, or make a significant contribution to the completion of an extremely high quality set. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, makes this is a particularly noteworthy collection. This is an unusually large collection of quality T206 cards in the same grade to be offered as a collection. PSA EX 5 T206 commons list for $135 each in SMR. The total SMR value for the collection (not including the four qualified cards) is $12,690. Total: 98 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000+. SOLD FOR $10,073
