One-page contract, dated September 28, 1950, signed by Marilyn Monroe. The contract, which is a standard advertising release issued by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation, grants to "LeGalion Perfume Co. and/or Steve Hannagan the non-exclusive right to utilize the name and likeness of Marilyn Monroe" for use in promotion of Sortilege Perfume in newspapers, magazines, and window and counter displays. Furthermore, whenever Monroe's name or likeness is used, the following credit line shall appear: "See MARILYN MONROE in Darryl F. Zanuck's production ALL ABOUT EVE, a 20th Century-Fox Picture." Monroe has signed the contract in black ink (grading "9/10") at the base. Representatives of both the Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation and the LeGalion Perfume Company have also signed the contract. All About Eve is considered one of the finest films ever made and garnered a then-record fourteen Academy Award nominations, winning six, including Best Picture. It was also the film that helped launch Monroe's career. The contract (8 x 13 inches) displays a "New York Legal Dept." stamp in the upper right corner, three horizontal fold lines, staple holes in the upper left, and a few minor edge and corner creases. In Excellent condition overall. Matted and framed together with a black-and-white photo (7.5 x 8.5 inches) of Monroe to total dimensions of 15 x 30 inches. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500.
