1906 Theodore Roosevelt Signed Appointment

Official Presidential appointment, dated May 7, 1906, signed by Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), twenty-sixth President of the United States. The large-format document recognizes the appointment of William A. Pamplin as Postmaster at Fayetteville, Tennessee. It is signed in black ink by both "Theodore Roosevelt" (grading "7"), as President, and by George B. Courtelyou (grading "8"), as Postmaster General. The official gold seal of the Post Office is affixed in the lower left corner. The document (17 x 13.5 inches) has a few small, scattered stains (mainly in the upper left corner) and a few extremely minor creases (both mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy) and is otherwise in Excellent condition. This is an outstanding signed TR display piece. Matted and framed together with a black-and-white photo (7 x 9 inches) of Roosevelt to total dimensions of 35 x 22 inches. LOA from James Spence/JSA.
