2010 Mariano Rivera New York Yankees Game-Used Home Jersey with Steiner Sports LOA

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,629

New York Yankees home jersey worn by future Hall of Fame reliever Mariano Rivera while recording his 531st career save on April 18, 2010, in a game against the Texas Rangers. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Steiner Sports, the exclusive marketing agent for New York Yankees game-used equipment. The garment also displays hologram labels from both Steiner Sports and MLB affixed to the tail. The white knit 45tripe jersey features the Yankees' "NY" logo on the left breast and the number "42" on the reverse. All letters and numerals have been appliquéd in navy blue tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a “Majestic" label,” a “2010” year tag, a “48” size tag, and a white strip tag bearing the number “42” (Rivera’s uniform number) stitched in black. Affixed to the Majestic tag are a Steiner Sports hologram label (#159360) and a MLB hologram label (LH882324). According to the MLB authentication database, this jersey was worn by Rivera on April 18, 2010, in a game against the Texas Rangers. Original and unaltered, the jersey displays light wear throughout. The Yankees defeated the Rangers 5-2 on April 18, 2010, with Rivera earning a save in relief of Andy Pettitte. Rivera started the ninth inning and retired the Rangers in order, including strikeouts of Nelson Cruz and pinch hitter Chris Davis. The save was Rivera’s fifth of the season and the 531st of his career. Rivera finished the year with a 3-3 record, 33 saves, and a 1.80 ERA. Considered by many to be the greatest reliever in baseball history, Rivera's Hall of Fame resume includes a record 603 saves, 1,111 strikeouts in 1,211 innings pitched, and a 2.21 ERA. He has also led the Yankees to seven pennants and five World Championships over the course of his seventeen seasons. This is an outstanding Rivera game-used jersey, with ironclad provenance, the likes of which will soon be more difficult to obtain if this is indeed his final season. LOA from Steiner Sports. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $5,629
