Rare 1927 New York Yankees World Series press pin. Exceptional high-grade example of one of the icons of press-pin collecting. The decorative pin, designed in the shape of a shield, has always been highly prized not just by press-pin collectors by also by Yankees and memorabilia collectors because it commemorates one of the most celebrated teams in baseball history. The 1927 New York Yankees, powered by Ruth, Gehrig, and the other members of baseball’s famed “Murderers' Row,” are widely considered by historians to be the greatest team ever assembled. Their World Series performance that year certainly affirmed that designation, as the Yankees easily swept the Pirates in four straight games. There is a tiny nick in the baseball; otherwise in Near Mint condition. Manufactured by Dieges & Clust; threaded-post back. Approximately 1 x 1.25 inches.
