1910-1912 T215 Red Cross Tobacco Type 1 - John McGraw

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,645

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Portrait pose. T215 Red Cross ( Type 1) card of Hall of Famer John McGraw from this legendary issue, which is universally recognized as one of rarest of all tobacco-card sets. This card is one of the many highlights from one of vintage-card collecting's most exciting recent discoveries: the Louisiana Find of 2010 (comprised of just 94 cards, all rarities, including eight T207 Red Cross back cards). The offered example of Hall of Famer John McGraw has a flawless image set against a striking red background, light wear on the corners, no creases, and is centered slightly to the bottom left with a very slight natural diamond cut. The reverse is clean with a bold advertisement for Red Cross Tobacco. This is an exceptional high-grade T215 Hall of Famer example from this extremely rare set. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,645
