1971 Topps #630 Roberto Clemente - PSA MINT 9

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,700

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Out of 1,643 1971 Topps Clemente cards graded to date by PSA, only fifteen have been assigned the grade of MINT (and only one has ever been graded GEM MINT). This is an extraordinary ultra high-grade 1971 Topps example of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. The 1971 Topps set is naturally prone to many different problems, including centering issues, print quality, and especially corner and edge chipping. This card is essentially perfect in all respects. The centering is virtually perfect (just a hint to the bottom). All four corners are razor-sharp. The corners and edges exhibit no wear or chipping whatsoever, even under extreme magnification, which is particularly remarkable. Perfectly crisp and clean, both front and back. This is a world-class ultra high-grade example of Roberto Clemente, one of the greatest legends in the history of the game, from one of the most condition-sensitive sets ever produced. MINT condition!!! SMR value is $2,750. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $4,700
