1959 Fleer Ted Williams Unopened Wax Box (17 Packs)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $7,638

Presented is a 1959 Fleer Ted Williams display box, one of the most visually pleasing display boxes ever created, containing seventeen original unopened 5-cent wax packs! This box originally held twenty-four 5-cent wax packs with each pack containing six cards. The seventeen packs in the box represent a total of 102 cards. The 1959 Fleer baseball set is a landmark issue devoted to the career and life of Ted Williams. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Gem Mint cards. These extraordinary high-grade unopened wax packs are in virtually perfect condition (except four have a little handling wear), looking exactly as they did when they sat on a candy-store shelf in 1959. They have remained untouched in the original display box since 1959. The display box has light shelf wear and is overall in Excellent condition. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $7,638
