1955 Topps #2 Ted Williams - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,880

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Very sharp high-grade example of one of Ted Williams' most popular cards. This is an extremely strong example of this classic 1950s bubble-gum card. It is bright and clean, front and back, with flawless colors, razor-sharp corners, and centered just slightly to the right (approximately 65/35 L/R). The condition is all the more impressive as (being card #2 in the set) this card would naturally receive more handling and wear. Though Williams broke into the majors all the way back in 1939, he was still in top form at the time of this card's issue (his fourteenth Major League season). Williams hit .356 in 1955, and the statistics on the reverse of the card show Williams hitting .345 the previous season. An exceptionally attractive, crisp, ultra high-grade example of 1955 Topps #2 Ted Williams. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,880
