1949 Bowman #84 Roy Campanella Rookie - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,410

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 711 examples graded by PSA, only nineteen cards have been graded higher. Incredible high-grade rookie card of Hall of Famer Roy Campanella, one of the key cards from the classic 1949 baseball-card issue, and one of the key Hall of Famer rookie cards of the era. This exceptional example is bright, crisp, and clean, both front and back, with sharp corners, perfect registration, deep, rich colors, and centered just a hint to the right (approximately 52/48 L/R). Cards from this set are extremely hard to find in high grade in part because they often naturally have soft corners due to the quality of the paper stock on which they are printed. One of the key classics of all postwar baseball-card issues, this is an extremely attractive high-grade example of Campanella's rookie card and one of the key Hall of Famers in the 1949 Bowman set. SMR value is $1,100. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,410
