1948 Leaf Gene Hermanski - PSA NM-MT+ 8.5

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $470

Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA. One of only two examples graded at this level by PSA, with none graded higher. Presented is an exceptionally high grade example of Gene Hermanski from the 1948 Leaf Gum issue. Hermanski is an extremely important card in the 1948 Leaf set. Because of a printing error, this card is known to exist with and without the "i" in "Hermanski.” This is the standard issued card with the name spelled correctly. Due to the poor printing quality of 1948 Leaf cards, they are rarely found in such high grade. The offered card displays a virtually flawless image that is centered just a touch to the left and 60/40 top to bottom. The image of Hermanski practically jumps off the bold, green background. All four corners are razor-sharp. The reverse is also perfectly clean with bold text. This extraordinary card, the highest-graded Leaf example of Hermanski (correct spelling) ever, would be an extremely significant addition to any high-grade 1948 Leaf collection or PSA Registry set. SMR value for the assigned grade is $415. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $470
