Nineteenth-Century Hall of Famer Card Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,880

Collection of four Hall of Famers from three different classic nineteenth-century issues. As is often the case with pre-1900 cards, these four cards are in very modest grades, but are still great-looking cards from important sets and featuring four of the nineteenth century's legendary Hall of Famers: 1) 1888 "Scrapps": Ned Hanlon (Fr condition due to creases and scrapbook paper on reverse, but still a very attractive card). 2) 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions: Tim Keefe (Gd). 3) 1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug (2 cards): Dan Brouthers (Baltimore team variation; has two tiny pinholes and scrapbook paper on reverse; outstanding clarity and no creases) and Tommy McCarthy (Gd). This is a very impressive small group of pre-1900 Hall of Famers, most with eye-appeal far superior to their technically accurate grades. Total: 4 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++ . SOLD FOR $1,880
