1923 V100 Williards Chocolate Collection Including Ruth and Cobb (154/180)

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $7,050

This 1923 V100 Williard’s Chocolate collection of 154 different players (out of 180 in the set) is highlighted by twenty-six Hall of Famers, including Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Walter Johnson. The V100 Williard's Chocolate series is one of the most substantial and overlooked sets from the 1920s. Very few comprehensive baseball-card sets were issued in the early 1920s. This classic 1920-era issue includes many of the great stars and Hall of Famers of the decade, and many obscure ballplayers that appear in few other sets. This is a very large collection for this issue, missing only twenty-six cards for completion (#6 Bancroft, 15, 18, 23 Coveleski, 26, 44, 57 Haines, 60, 61 Heilmann, 65 Hooper, 67 Hoyt, 68 Huggins, 73, 79, 82, 93, 102, 106, 113, 120, 131 Rickey, 132, 137, 146 Sewell, 152, and 169).
