1921 Exhibit Supply Co. Babe Ruth - PSA EX+ 5.5

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,644

Graded EX+ 5.5 by PSA. Only example graded at this level by PSA. Of the 42 examples of this card graded to date, only six grade higher and even then, only slightly higher (five PSA EX-MT 6 and one PSA EX-MT+ 6.5). This is a very attractive high-grade example of one of Ruth's truly great early 1920s cards. 1921 was the very first year the legendary Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago issued cards. It would go on to issue sets for the next fifty years. These cards were sold by Exhibit card machines at amusement parks and penny arcades, one penny per card. This is the key card from the set and one of Ruth's earliest cards featuring him with the Yankees. The card is bright and crisp, with no creases, light wear on the corners, and a flawless image. An outstanding and extremely high grade example of what is universally recognized by collectors as one of Ruth’s most classic cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,644
