1930 Zeenut PCL Complete Set (186) Including Lombardi, Nevers, Rosenberg

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,994

Complete set of all 186 different 1930 Zeenut cards featuring Pacific Coast League players, highlighted by key cards Frank Crosetti, Ernie Lombardi, Ernie Nevers, and Rosenberg. The 1930 Zeenut set is comprised of players from eight different teams (Hollywood, Los Angeles, Mission, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Seattle). A complete set such as this is extremely rare. In fact, this is the first complete 1930 Zeenut set we have ever offered. The cards range from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt from the front (with a few slightly lesser), but technically grade lower due to the player's position neatly written on the back of each card in either pencil or ink (except for five cards that have no writing). We have submitted three cards to be graded by SGC: Lombardi (FAIR 20, Ex appearance from the front downgraded for the letter "C" to indicate his position as catcher written in ink on the back), Nevers (EX 60), and Rosenberg (FAIR 20, Ex-Mt appearance from the front downgraded for the letters "OF" to indicate his position as outfielder and "sold to Giants" written in ink on the back). As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of each card has been neatly clipped away, as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. Also as is usually the case with Zeenuts, most of the cards have a far superior appearance than suggested by their technically accurate modest grades. This "comes with the territory" with Zeenuts. This 1930 Zeenut set is part of an extraordinary comprehensive Zeenut collection, the finest we have ever handled. The collection was assembled over a period of many years by an extremely advanced pioneer collector, and has been broken down by year into a number of smaller but still very substantial lots. Total: 186 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000++. SOLD FOR $4,994
