1916 Zeenut PCL Frank Chance - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,645

Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Highest-graded example by SGC! This extremely rare 1916 Zeenut card features Hall of Famer Frank Chance at the age of 39 playing for the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League. This is one of only two cards of Frank Chance issued during his playing days in the PCL (the other is the 1917 Zeenut, which is also offered in this auction). Chance appeared in just eleven games for Los Angeles in 1916, batting .286 with one double. The front of the card has just the slightest hint of corner wear and is otherwise in virtually flawless condition. Bright, fresh, and impeccably clean, both front and back, with a striking image set against a beautiful sky-blue background. This card would make a significant addition to any world-class collection of sample cards, high-grade rarities, Hall of Famers, or prewar cards. Extremely attractive high-grade example of one of Frank Chance's rarest and most desirable cards. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,645
