1915 E145 Cracker Jack #3 Joe Tinker - SGC NM 84

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $940

Graded NM 84 by SGC. One of only two 1915 Cracker Jacks of Joe Tinker graded at this level by SGC, with just three graded higher. Cracker Jacks are universally regarded as one of the most classic and highly regarded baseball-card sets ever produced. While Cracker Jacks were issued one card per box, in 1915 the entire set of 176 cards could also be ordered by mail in exchange for 100 coupons, or 1 coupon plus 25 cents. This card no doubt originates from an original factory set. It is crisp and clean, both front and back, with a sharp image, bright, bold colors, and four sharp corners. This is a difficult card to find in high grade. All Cracker Jacks are rare to find in high-grade condition, but as card #3 in the 1915 Cracker Jack set, this card naturally gravitates to the top of the stack when put in numerical order and therefore tends to have been subject to much more wear than most other cards in the set. So, in addition to being a key Hall of Famer, Tinker is somewhat of a condition rarity, and a particularly difficult card to find in extremely high grade. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned graded is $1,100. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $940
