1909-1912 PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs PSA-Graded Collection (37)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,528

Circa 1910 PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs collection of thirty-seven different (out of 129 players in the set) is highlighted by five Hall of Famers including Tris Speaker. The PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs set is one of the most interesting, substantial, and most overlooked of all baseball tobacco inserts. This classic 1910-era issue includes almost all of the great stars and Hall of Famers of the era. Each disc has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. PSA condition report: Ten EX-MT 6: Ball, Becker, Callahan, Carrigan, Dooin, Evans, McBride, Schaefer, Schulte, and Warhop. Twenty-two EX 5: Bates, Bell, Birmingham, Brown (HOF), Chance (HOF), Ferguson, Fromme, Hummel, Lord, Magee, Mattern, Merkle, Murphy, Needham, Oldring, Paskert, Quinn, Richie, Smith, Speaker (HOF), Wallace (HOF), and Wilson (dark cap, Pirates). Two VG-EX 4: Chase and Doolan. One VG 3: Barger. Two GOOD 2: Hoffman and Jennings (HOF). Domino Discs are substantially rarer than card issues such as T205 and T206 (or even P2 pins) that were issued with tobacco in the same era. Because cards naturally get most of the attention among tobacco inserts, in our opinion Domino Discs represent one of the best values of all 1910-era baseball tobacco issues. Total: 37 discs. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $1,528
