1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders Collection (28)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $4,113

Sharp-looking collection of twenty-eight (27 different) T202 Hassan Triple Folders, one of the most classic of all tobacco issues. This is an exceptionally clean group. 35% range from Ex to Ex-Mt (if graded, we wouldn't be shocked if there were a few Nr/Mts), 65% range from Vg to Vg-Ex/Ex (with a few slightly lesser). In the following listing, cards are identified by the numbers provided by the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards checklist. Consists of: #5 Bergen/Rucker, 7 Mullin/Stanage, 12 Gaspar/McLean, 13 Carrigan/Wagner, 21 Chase/Wolter, 24 Egan/Mitchell, 29 Magee/Paskert, two 33 Ball/Stovall, 35 Payne/White, 53 Dooin/Doolan, 56 Doyle/Merkle, 73 Dahlen/Scanlan, 77 Delahanty/Jones, 91 Kling/Mattern, 92 Kling/Steinfeldt, 95 Needham/Richie, 96 McConnell/McIntyre, 97 Stanage/Willett, 98 Bates/Bescher, 99 Lord/Oldring, 102 Lord/Oldring, 103 Barger/Bergen, 113 Ford/Sweeney, 114 Latham/Raymond, 119 Egan/Hoblitzell, 120 Birmingham/Turner, and 128 Meyers/Wiltse. This is a very bright, clean, attractive group. T202s are very condition-sensitive. Their tri-fold design makes them very prone to wear and small creases, often making cards which appear to be in Excellent condition technically grade Vg or Vg-Ex. This is a very substantial group (representing 20% of the set!), and could serve as the foundation for the assembly of an extremely attractive set of T202 Hassan Triple Folders, arguably the most interesting and beautiful baseball tobacco issue ever produced. Total: 28 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $4,113
