1912 T207 Brown Background Collection Including Walter Johnson (75 cards)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,763

Collection of seventy-five different T207 Brown Background cards, all with Recruit backs, highlighted by six Hall of Famers, including Walter Johnson, Harry Hooper, and Max Carey. Overall a very clean, mid-grade collection with 20% grading from Vg to Vg-Ex, 80% grading Gd and slightly lesser (including a few slightly trimmed). The collection is highlighted by six Hall of Famers: Bender (Gd), Bresnahan (number "25" written in pencil on back, otherwise Vg), Carey (corners clipped), Hooper (heavy back damage, otherwise Gd-Vg), Walter Johnson (great-looking card technically grades Gd), and Marquard (Vg-Ex). Most cards have a stronger appearance than their technically accurate assigned grades (which is usually the case with T207s). This is a substantial T207 collection representing 38% of the set, including some very noteworthy highlights, and could provide a strong foundation for collecting this classic tobacco-card issue. Total: 75 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,763
