1911 T201 Mecca Double Folders Nap Lajoie/Falkenberg - SGC NM/MT+ 92 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,175

Graded NM/MT+ 92 by SGC. Highest-graded example by SGC (and only one example graded higher by PSA). A very sharp high-grade example of one of the key cards from the classic T201 Mecca Double Folders set featuring Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie and Cy Falkenberg of the Cleveland Americans. T201 Double Folders are one of the most condition-sensitive of all tobacco-card issues. The thin stock on which they are printed makes them especially susceptible to soft corners as well as to very slight wrinkles, creases, and edge wear. These cards were designed to be played with, folded up and down, so it is not surprising that normal handling would result in few truly high-grade examples surviving. This is a remarkably high grade example of one the key Hall of Famers in the set. Bright and clean, with fresh colors, not a hint of creasing anywhere, beautifully centered, and with four razor-sharp corners. This is a magnificent example that would be a worthy addition or significant upgrade to any high-grade T201, Nap Lajoie or prewar-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,175
