1909-1911 T206 White Border Hall of Fame Collection (3)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,115

Three key T206 Hall of Famers, each an extremely attractive technically mid-grade example. Each of these cards is of a particularly significant Hall of Famer and among the most desirable highlight cards in the T206 set. All three cards have been graded VG 40 by SGC: 1) Walter Johnson/hands at chest (Sweet Caporal reverse). Bright and crisp, with a striking blue background, no creases, light corner wear, and centered towards the top left; 2) Walter Johnson/portrait (Piedmont reverse). Particularly attractive, beautifully centered, a few light surface creases visible on reverse, even wear on the corners, and the reverse is centered to the far right; and 3) Cy Young/glove shows (Piedmont reverse). Perfectly clean front and back, with a flawless image, light corner wear, no creases, and centered to the right. We selected these three cards as particularly attractive HOFer classics from a larger mid-grade T206 collection (the balance of which is offered elsewhere in this auction). This is a very attractive trio of key T206 Hall of Famer cards, each with bright colors, and clean both front and back, representing a potentially outstanding vintage-card collecting value. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $1,355. Total 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,115
