Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,115

Collection of sixty-one T206 White Border tobacco cards, each encapsulated and graded VG 40 by SGC. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on back unless otherwise noted. All of these cards feature players with last names beginning with "M" through "Z": Maddox, Malarkey, Maloney, Manning-Batting, McAleese, McGann, McIntyre (Detroit, Sovereign back), McLean, McQuillan (bat, Polar Bear back), Merritt, Milan, Moeller, Moran (Chicago), Mullin (throwing), Myers (fielding), O’Neil, Overall (hands waist level), Overall (portrait), Owen, Pastorius, Pattee, Pfeister (seated), Phelan, Phelps, Phillippe, Puttman, Quinn, Raymond, Reulbach (glove), Ritter, Rucker (port.), Schmidt (throwing), Schulte (front view), Seymour (batting), Sharpe, Shaw (Providence), Smith (F. Tannehill on front), Taylor, Titus, Unglaub, Wagner (bat on right), Weimer, White (port.), Wilhelm (hands at chest), Willett, Willetts, Wilson, Wiltse (no cap), Wiltse (cap), and Young (Minn.). Bright and crisp extremely attractive collection, all in uniform grade, from the most popular and classic set of the era. This is a very substantial group, and a tremendous start to a T206 set. The equivalent total SMR value for the assigned grades is $2,900. Total: 61 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+.
