1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb - Red Background - SGC EX+ 70

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,233

Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Exceptionally attractive high-grade example of one of the four classic poses of Ty Cobb from the T206 White Borders series. This is a tremendous example with an even stronger eye-appeal than suggested by its very respectable and technically accurate SGC grade. The offered example has a particularly striking portrait, brilliant colors with a strong red background, perfectly clean both front and back, centered just a hint towards the top left, with four square corners displaying just a hint of wear, and flawless registration. Piedmont advertising on reverse. This is an extremely desirable grade for this classic card, providing a relatively affordable alternative to a far more expensive super high-grade example, without compromising on all of the most important qualities of the card. This is a beautiful card! Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+.
