1909-1911 T206 Phil Poland - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $3,819

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of only three examples graded at this level by PSA with none graded higher. This magnificent high-grade T206 example of Phil Poland of Baltimore displays extremely bold colors, with four sharp corners, and flawless registration. The bright red background is extraordinarily strong and brilliant. There are a few scattered tiny red print spots along the top border and right border, which are natural to the card and related to the factory printing process. The Sweet Caporal reverse is centered slightly to the left. Based on the PSA Population Report, this is a particularly difficult card to find in extremely high grade. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T206 White Borders. SMR is $675. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $3,819
