1909-1911 T206 George Brown - Washington - PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,525

Graded NM 7 by PSA. Washington team variation. Of the 168 Washington Browns listed in the PSA population report to date, just seven have ever received a NM 7 designation, and only three examples of this notably scarce T206 have ever graded higher. Since the days of Jefferson Burdick, this team-designation variation has always been recognized as one of the rarer cards of the T206 set. This is a remarkably highly graded PSA example. Most T206s, of course, have survived in far lesser condition, so when dealing with any of the few cards in the set with a notable degree of extra rarity, high-grade examples naturally have a special premium value to collectors. The offered card is extremely bright and crisp, and presents a strong and impressive image of Brown. This card exhibits flawless colors, perfect registration, four sharp corners with just a hint of wear, and is centered slightly toward the top (approximately 35/65 T/B). Sweet Caporal advertising on the reverse is centered very slightly to the right. This is an extremely attractive card and one that, due to its low population in high PSA grades, is of special value to most PSA Registry sets. SMR value for the assigned grade is $2,000. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
