1909-1911 T206 Bill O'Hara - St. Louis Americans Variation

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,819

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Offered is an exceptionally attractive technically mid-grade example of the rare O'Hara, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. This card is in particularly outstanding condition for this key T206 rarity. Polar Bear was the only company to issue the rare T206 O'Hara, St. Louis variation. This card is not only a significant rarity, but is very difficult to find in high grade. This is directly related to the fact that T206 cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were packaged without the protection from the tobacco provided to T206 cards issued with other brands. This is a strong example with an Excellent appearance; the card has a light crease near the lower right corner, and only a few very tiny spots of tobacco stains. Bright and crisp, with extremely fresh colors. Very well centered with a slight natural diamond cut (more noticeable from the reverse). Outstanding eye-appeal! This is an extremely pleasing mid-grade example of one of the key significant (and in our opinion very underrated) rarities from the classic T206 White Border set. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
