1909-1911 T206 White Border Tobacco-Card Collection (62)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,700

Collection of sixty-two different T206 White Border tobacco cards, highlighted by Cy Young's bare-hand pose, each graded and encapsulated by one of six different grading companies (Accugrade, ASA, CSA, CTA, PRO, SAG) whose services we do not utilize and with which we have no experience. All these cards appear to be altered, but someone else may have a different opinion on any given card. Includes the following: Arellanes, Armbuster, Atz, Beck, Berger, Bliss, Brown (HOF; Chicago), Brown (HOF; portrait), Burchell, Burns, Bush, Camnitz (arms folded), Cicotte (Black Sox member), Cree, Criger, Doolin (Doolan), Dunn (Baltimore), Dunn (Brooklyn), Goode, Graham (St. Louis), Griffith (HOF; portrait), Grimshaw, Howell (hand on waist), Jackson, Jones (Chicago, portrait), Jordan (Bklyn, batting), Keeler (HOF; batting), Killian (hands at chest), Lake (St. Louis, no ball), Lattimore, Lentz (southern leaguer), Lumley, Marquard (HOF; hands at thighs), Marquard (HOF; portrait), McIntyre (Bklyn), Meyers, Milan, Moeller, Murray (batting), Myers (batting), Nattress, Nichols (batting), Niles, O'Neil, Overall (hands at waist), Perdue (southern leaguer), Pfeister (seated), Quinn, Ritchey, Seitz (southern leaguer), Smith (Bklyn), Spencer, Stanage, Starr, Stovall (portrait), Street (catching), Street (portrait), Turner, Willett, Wright, Young (HOF; bare hand), and Zimmerman. Each card in this collection has an appearance ranging from Excellent to Nr/Mt-Mt, most Nr/Mt or better, but each card, in our opinion, has at one time been very slightly trimmed. While we do not believe these cards will ever be graded by PSA or SGC, they do represent an extraordinary value for the collector who wants beautiful original examples of these classics, at a far more affordable level than examples with a similar appearance. This is a very attractive collection of original T206s, including a few key Hall of Famers and rare cards from the set. Total: 62 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $4,700
