1910 E105 Mello-Mint Cy Young

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,058

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Very attractive example of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young from this extremely rare candy issue. Because Mello-Mints are printed on such thin stock, they are usually found crinkled or heavily creased. This is an extremely bright and crisp example of one of the key Hall of Famers in the set. The card has even wear to the corners, a hint of surface wear, and is crease-free. The card is centered to the left (approximately 30/70 L/R). The Mello-Mint advertisement on the back is boldly printed in green text. Caramel cards in general, of course, are rarely found in high grade, and this is especially so with Mello-Mints. This is an extremely attractive example of the legendary Cy Young from Mello-Mint, one of prewar-card collecting's most condition-sensitive candy-card issues. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000.
