1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Ty Cobb

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,406

Graded EX 5 (MK) by PSA. Extremely attractive high-grade example of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the E95 Philadelphia Caramel series, one of Cobb's most beautifully designed cards and the key card from this rare and classic 1910-era candy set. The image on this card is unique to the set. This E95 Philadelphia Caramel Ty Cobb is an exceptional high-grade example with extraordinary eye-appeal. Cobb’s image contrasts sharply against the bold red background. The card is very well centered, just a hint towards the bottom left, with four extremely square corners (very rarely seen with E95s). This card is a gem! A few tiny surface scratches above Cobb's right shoulder are very minor and have no impact on the outstanding eye-appeal of this exceptional card. A couple scattered pencil marks on the reverse (through the name "Cobb" and "Detroit" in the checklist and near the letter "e" in "Caramel" on the bottom) are responsible for the "MK" designation by PSA. This is a beautiful and striking high-grade example of one of Cobb's most desirable and classic cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $4,406
