1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Frank Chance

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $588

Graded EX 60 by SGC. One of only seven examples graded at this level, with just two graded higher. Extremely attractive high-grade example of Hall of Famer Frank Chance in a portrait pose from the highly desirable E95 Philadelphia Caramel series. For a caramel card, SGC EX 60 is an impressive grade. Due to the thin stock on which they are printed, and their method of issue, these cards are rarely found in high grade. Perfectly centered with a vibrant green background, a hint of even wear to the corners, and a perfectly clean surface with particularly bold colors. The printing of the checklist on the back is bright and bold. A slight hint of a surface crease on the extreme bottom border is most likely responsible for this card not receiving a higher grade. The designs used in E95 are particularly noted for their beauty and are unique to the set. This is an outstanding E95 example and one of Hall of Famer Frank Chance's most striking cards. SMR value is $1,100. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $588
