1928 J. Millhoff Co. "Famous Golfers" Complete Set (27): #1 PSA Set Registry!

The finest set in existence of one of golf-card collecting's most highly prized sets: Unbelievably high-grade complete 27-card set of 1928 J. Millhoff & Co. "Famous Golfers" cards, highlighted by golf legends Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, and Harry Vardon. Of special note: this is the first golf card set to feature professional women golfers in the same series as the men. This is currently the number-one All-Time Finest set in the world on the PSA Registry! Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. The set includes an astounding sixteen PSA MINT 9s (including Jones, Hagen, and Vardon), and eleven PSA NM-MT 8s. The PSA registry overall weighted GPA rating is 8.66. This is an extraordinary set which has been assembled by an extremely dedicated and condition-conscious collector over a period of many years, with the express purpose of assembling the best set in the world. The PSA grades are as follows: Sixteen MINT 9: #2 Hagen, 4 R. Wethered, 5 Vardon (Highest Graded!), 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 J. Wethered, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20 Jones (Highest Graded!), 21 Cotton, 23, and 25. Eleven NM-MT 8: #1 Boomer, 3, 6, 7, 9, 18, 19, 22, 24 Armour, 26, and 27 (last card in the set). Twenty-two of these cards are the highest-ever PSA-graded examples. Two additional cards have only one example graded higher. Compared to vintage baseball cards, golf cards are beginning to be recognized as offering an outstanding value.
