Michael Jordan Signed Limited-Edition Peter Max Lithograph with Upper Deck Certification

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,350

Titled The Last Shot , issued in 1999, hand numbered "46/423," and flawlessly signed in black marker (grading "10") by both Michael Jordan and Peter Max. This rare sports lithograph by renowned pop artist Peter Max captures one of the most iconic moments in Michael Jordan's legendary career: the last shot he ever took as a Chicago Bull, which was also the last shot of the 1998 NBA Finals between Jordan's Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz. Jordan's final shot, which took place in Game 6 with just 5.2 seconds left, not only gave the Bulls the victory in the game, but also brought Chicago its sixth and final World Championship during Jordan's tenure with the club. After the game, both Jordan and head coach Phil Jackson officially retired (both later returned to the NBA with different clubs). This is one of the most visually impressive of all Michael Jordan signed art pieces and the first example we have ever offered. Adding to its appeal is its provenance. This piece was signed by Jordan under the auspices of The Upper Deck Company and it features the company's authentication hologram label affixed in the lower right corner. It is also accompanied by an official Upper Deck COA bearing a corresponding hologram label. The lithograph measures 25.5 x 33 inches and is framed to total dimensions of 28 x 36 inches. Please Note: due to the size and/or weight of this lot, shipping costs (depending on where it is sent and its method of shipping) may be substantial. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,350
