Near-Complete 500 Home Run Club Single-Signed Ball Collection - All Graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA (22 Single-Signed Balls)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,994

Offered here is an extraordinary 500 Home Run Club single-signed ball collection that is distinguished both by its scope and quality. This collection features single-signed balls for twenty-two of the twenty-five players who currently have 500 or more home runs, and is missing only Ruth, Ott, and Foxx for completion. The breadth of the collection notwithstanding, what truly sets this group apart is its condition. Every single ball has been graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA (that grade is a combination of the quality of the autograph and baseball) and each remains housed in its original display case (all are sealed with the exception of Palmeiro, Killebrew, and Griffey Jr.). Unless otherwise noted, all of the signatures have been scripted in blue ink across the sweet spot of an official Major League (Selig) ball. The collection is comprised of the following: Ted Williams (OAL Bobby Brown ball), Mickey Mantle (OAL Bobby Brown ball), Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews (ONL Bill White ball), Mike Schmidt, Eddie Murray (OAL Gene Budig ball), Harmon Killebrew, Frank Robinson, Reggie Jackson, Sammy Sosa, Ernie Banks, Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Rafael Palmeiro (Rawlings "Official League" ball), Mark McGwire (on a side panel), Willie McCovey, Frank Thomas, Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, Barry Bonds, and Gary Sheffield. Each ball is also accompanied by its corresponding individual PSA/DNA LOA and/or COA. The compilation of this collection required a great deal of time and expenditure on the part of our consignor. The current SMR value for this collection, not counting Ramirez, Thome, Thomas, and Sheffield, is $4,280; however, we feel that that number might be low, given the extraordinary quality of each ball and especially given the difficulty and cost of obtaining the most recent members. This is a modern-day collecting classic, a set that has the potential to be completed (with the addition of Ruth, Ott, Foxx), and an extraordinary collection exactly as is. The assembly of this collection in such incredibly high grade and quality will most likely be even more greatly appreciated in the years to come. Total: 22 balls. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $4,994
