Do not attempt to adjust the picture..." Those immortal words began the intimidating narration at the beginning of each episode of one of TV's most creative and exciting science fiction shows. Mayhem soon followed, usually involving hideous monsters that threatened all that we hold dear. It was only natural that The Outer Limits should be honored with its own bubble-gum card set. This popular nonsport set issued by Topps (and credited to Topps trade name "Bubbles, Inc" on reverse of each card) is based on the classic sci-fi television series. This is a particularly high-grade (as well as large in number) collection for this issue, which is so sensitive to corner and edge chipping due to the black borders of the card design. The Outer Limits set naturally has broad appeal to both card and science fiction collectors. This is a tremendous group of one of the most popular nonsport sets of the 1960s. From the Sy Berger Collection. Total 272 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
