1956-1970 Team-Signed Ball Collection (10)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,350

This collection of ten team-signed balls spans the years 1956 through 1970 and features a total of 223 signatures. All are from the Sy Beger Collection. Even though he was not a collector in the traditional sense, everywhere Sy went in the baseball world he was given items as special keepsakes and tributes of friendship. Sy knew all of the players who signed these balls, so he naturally always put them aside in a safe place. Although most of the balls in this grouping are mid-grade examples, the collection as a whole is also distinguished by the fact that there is only one clubhouse signature present in this entire collection of ten balls (Paul Richards on the 1956 Orioles ball). In our listing, we have noted all of the Hall of Fame signatures on each ball as well as many of the key players. 1956 Pittsburgh Pirates.
