1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle

Starting Bid - $3,000, Sold For - $9,400

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Very attractive Vg-Ex example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is a magnificent example with brilliant colors. The blue background has just the lightest hint of surface wear, as well as light corner wear (a little more in the lower left). No creases. Centered 60/40 left to right and 65/35 top and bottom. This card falls short of Ex due to light wear but is a tremendous, very well-centered example, with strong visual appeal. An impressive yet still relatively affordable 1952 Topps #311 Mantle rookie, this is an exceptionally attractive example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card in an extremely desirable grade. Reserve $3,000. Estimate $6,000+. SOLD FOR $9,400
