1909-1911 T206 Clark Griffith - Rare "Drum" Back

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $7,050

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Rare Drum back T206 Hall of Famer example. Extremely attractive T206 White Border with Drum advertising reverse featuring Hall of Famer Clark Griffith (batting pose). Drum backs are unusual and extremely rare. They are easily one of the most difficult to find of all T206 advertising backs, and in our experience are even rarer than Uzit or Red Hindu T206s, each legendary T206 ad back rarities. Even a common player T206 Drum back is noteworthy. This is a tremendous Hall of Famer example, and one with an appearance much stronger than its technically accurate PSA grade. The card has an Excellent appearance and has been downgraded to VG-EX only due to a hint too much corner wear. The card is bright and crisp, both front and back, with no creases, bold color, and light, even wear to the corners. Centered slightly to the bottom. The Drum print on the reverse is flawless and centered to the right. This is a magnificent Hall of Famer example (one of the few among the small number of subjects even issued with this back) featuring the extremely rare Drum advertising back. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $7,050
