1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb - Red Background - SGC EX 60

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,880

Graded EX 60 by SGC. The T206 portrait of Ty Cobb set against a brilliant red background is considered by many collectors to be his single most classic card. It is one of the most recognizable and popular of all vintage baseball cards. Presented is a bright, crisp, clean EX example, with no creases, outstanding color, nearly perfect centering, and an extremely bold red background. The card has light, even corner wear (predominately the upper left), and was downgraded from Ex-Mt by SGC solely due to this light corner wear and a tiny chip of surface wear in the middle of the left edge. The Piedmont ad on the reverse is very clean and centered to the left (approximately 25/75 L/R). This is a gorgeous card! Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,880
