1909-1911 T206 Bill O'Hara - St. Louis American Variation

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,288

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Offered is an exceptionally attractive technically mid-grade example of the rare O'Hara, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. This card is in outstanding condition for this key T206 rarity. Polar Bear was the only company to issue the rare T206 O'Hara, St. Louis variation. This card is not only a significant rarity, but is very difficult to find in high grade. This is directly related to the fact that T206 cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were packaged without the protection from the tobacco provided to T206 cards issued with other brands. This is a strong example with an Excellent appearance; the card has a light surface wrinkle above his cap and a tiny pinpoint chip on the middle of the top edge, and the reverse has only a few very tiny spots of tobacco stains. Bright and crisp, with perfect registration, and extremely fresh colors. Outstanding eye-appeal! This is an extremely pleasing mid-grade example of one of the key significant rarities from the classic T206 White Border set. From the Charlie Conlon Collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
