1909-1911 T206 White Border Hall of Fame Collection (3)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,115

Three classic T206 Hall of Famers, each an extremely attractive key Hall of Famer in the set. Each of these cards is of a particularly significant Hall of Famer and among the most desirable highlight cards in the T206 set. All three portrait poses have been graded and encapsulated by SGC: 1) Ty Cobb/red background (VG/EX 50). Bright and crisp, with a striking red background, no creases, even corner wear, and centered towards the top right; 2) Walter Johnson (VG/EX 50). Particularly attractive, beautifully centered, no creases, rounded corners, with a flawless image; and 3) Nap Lajoie (GOOD 30). Well centered, with several light creases, and the registration slightly off. We pulled these three cards as particularly nice examples from a larger original-owner mid-grade T206 collection (the balance of which is offered elsewhere in this auction). This is a very attractive mid-grade trio of key T206 Hall of Famer portrait cards, each with bright colors, and clean both front and back. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $1,895. Total 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $2,115
